Cisco 79XX - Do Not Disturb
Goal
The purpose of this article is to provide instructions on how to use the Do Not Disturb (DND) feature of Cisco 79XX phones.
Resolution/Steps
Whether you’re off the phone or currently speaking to someone, if you receive a call and are unable to answer the call you have two options:
- Allow it to ring until the caller reaches your voicemail.
- Select the DND soft key, which will turn off the ringing but you’ll continue to see the caller on your screen. The caller will still hear ringing and will be sent to voicemail as usual if the call is unanswered. Also, any future calls will function the same way until Do Not Disturb is turned off. When you’re ready to turn off Do Not Disturb, simply select the DND soft key again.
