Teams Operator Connect - Assign Numbers to Resource Accounts

 

Goal: 

Provide instruction on how to assign a DID to a Microsoft Teams Resource Account through the Teams Admin Center.

 

Instructions

NOTE: The DID must first be uploaded from Connect as a “Voice App” type as outlined here MS Teams Operator Connect - Number Management - CallTower Solutions Center. The Resource Account must also be assigned a Teams Phone Resource Account license in O365 MS Teams Admin - Add a Resource Account - CallTower Solutions Center 

Method 1 

  1. In Teams Admin Center, navigate to the "Voice" tab, then select "Resource Accounts". Select the check box to the far left of the Account the DID needs to be assigned to, then select the assign/unassign button at the top of the list.

  1. In the pop-out from the right-hand side, select “Operator Connect” as the Phone Number Type field. Then select the DID (Number) from the drop-down list. Now Save your changes.

  1. Select the Auto Attendant or Resource account to assign the Resource account to.

Method 2 

  1. Navigate to the "Voice" tab, then select the "Phone numbers" option. Search for the number you wish to assign.A screenshot of a computer

  1.  Select the check box to the right of the DID. Then select "Edit".

  1. From the pop-out on the right, select “Resource account” from the Assign to section. Then enter the display name of the resource account. Select Add and then select Apply.A screenshot of a phone registration form
