CT Text Installation Guide

Notes

CT Text consists of two separate pieces, the application itself and the CT Text Bot.  The Bot allows the use of the Microsoft Teams notification function to alert the user when new messages have been received.

The .zip file must be uploaded into Microsoft Teams intact. Do not extract any files contained in the .zip file or the installation process will fail, even if the files are re-compressed into a new .zip file. Safari browsers are often set to automatically extract .zip files. This setting must be disabled. You can do that by selecting Preferences from the Safari menu and unchecking the Open “safe” files after downloading feature on the General tab (usually found at the bottom of the page.)

The first installation of CT Text and the CT Text Bot should be on a user with Office 365 administrative rights in order to ensure the necessary permissions in the Office 365 tenant are granted.

Ensure that users can install custom applications.  If necessary, the Upload custom apps feature can be enabled by going to the Teams apps/Setup policies menu in the Microsoft Teams admin center.
