Cisco Connect Admin - Adding A Number To An Existing User
Goal
In this article we will go through the steps necessary to add a number to an existing user in connect. Typically DID's are added in at the same time the user is created. However, there are occasions in which a shell user is created with no services and then you will need to attach a DID to it.
Step #1
Once in connect, navigate to the user you need to add the DID to.
Step #2
Select the user and from the hamburger menu in the top left select "Manage services"
Step #3 - Cisco
In here you will want to check the box next to all the services you wish to add. But for the purposes of the article, the only ones you need to add are "user services" as well as "CM Voice Service". Once you check the CM Voice Service box a menu will appear asking you to select the DID you wish to tie to the user. Select the desired DID then hit save.
NOTE: The only DID's that will appear are available PH type DID's in the same location as the user.
Step #3 - Skype
In here you will want to check the box next to all the services you wish to add. But for the purposes of the article, the only ones you need to add are "user services" as well as "Skype". Once you check Skype, a drop down will appear. Here you will select which type of Skype license you are to give the user. Select the desired license and a menu will appear asking you to select the DID you wish to tie to the user. Select the desired DID then hit save.
NOTE: The only DID's that will appear are available LY type DID's in the same location as the user.
NOTE: The license you select must be "___________ With Voice" in order to attach a DID to the user.
It's always good practice to place a test call to make sure that the DID is routing properly after you have added it to a user.
