Internal CT Text - Building CT Text Users With CT Text Groups

Summary:

This article will outline how to provision CT Text users that are to be added to CT Text groups.

Steps:

CT Text user builds that are to be added to a group will need to have their user, number, and group all on the same Subscription and Provider in Yakchat Admin. Because of this, the Support technician will need to start the MACD by checking the customer’s groups in Yakchat Admin. If they do have groups, we need to verify with the MPOC if the user is to be added to a group.

If you have verified that the new user build is to be added to a group, proceed with checking the Subscription that the group is currently on. This will give you the Subscription and Provider that you should set up the new user and number as.

As an example, let’s say that a MACD was submitted for user Angie Copaus with username acopaus@calltower.com and DID 3852970241 for CT Text service. The MPOC specified that this user is to be added to the “CSP MFA Group”. From here you will navigate to the CallTower customer in Yakchat Admin > Groups > Select the “CSP MFA Group” > Group Detail. Here you can see what Subscription the group is with.

After obtaining the Subscription name, you can navigate to the Subscription tab under the customer’s account in Yakchat Admin to get the specific Provider.

In this specific example, I would need to ensure that Angie’s number is built in Yakchat Admin under the Bandwidth Provider:

I would then build Angie’s user in Yakchat Admin with the same Subscription as the group (CallTower - Bandwidth MMS - Personal & Shared)

And last, do not forget to add the user to the specified group.

After you have finished building the user in Yakchat Admin, you can then proceed with creating a child Telecom case as outlined in this article: CT Text - Enabling DIDs for texting with Telecom.
