Billing - Usage Breakdown

Important Note

As of May 28th, 2024, CallTower is changing how usage appears on invoices. There will be a transition period where you may see both existing and new usage on your invoice - this should not last longer than two to three billing cycles. New usage will identify both the call type and the platform where the call originates or terminates. In addition, downloaded CDRs from Bill Center or Connect may show this information via usage codes. Please see the usage code section for more information on the association between codes and call type/platform.

Usage Definitions - Existing

• Usage - LD - 800 - International: Inbound calls from international numbers to a toll-free number
• Usage - LD - 800 - Interstate: Inbound calls from out-of-state numbers to a toll-free number
• Usage - LD - 800 - Intrastate: Inbound calls from instate numbers to a toll-free number
• Usage - LD - Interstate: Inbound/Outbound calls with numbers that are out of state
• Usage - LD - Intralata: Refers to a call from one LATA to another, which can be within a state or from state to state
• Usage - Local: Inbound/Outbound calls usually defined by the demarc points.
• Usage - Microsoft Teams Unlimited: Minutes tied to Teams Users with unlimited minutes. *Only applicable to customers with Teams Unlimited Plans.
• Usage - Toll-Free: Outbound calls made to a toll-free number

Usage Definitions - New

• Usage - Canada Outbound: Domestic calls within Canada
• Usage - Canada Outbound Tollfree: Domestic calls to a toll-free number within Canada
• Usage - US Domestic Outbound: Domestic calls within the United States
• Usage - US Outbound Tollfree: Domestic calls to a toll-free number within the United States
• Usage - In-country Landline: Calls to a landline within the same country (outside of the US and Canada)
• Usage - In-country Mobile: Calls to a mobile number within the same country (outside of the US and Canada)
• Usage - In-country Non-geographic: Calls to a non-geographic number within the same country (outside the US and Canada.)  Non-geographic numbers are not included in bundles and include both outbound toll-free (with a cost of 0) and calls to national or premium numbers that can have dramatically different rates.  Current rates are available at https://info.calltower.com/hubfs/CallTower-InCountryRateDeck.pdf.
• Usage - International Long Distance: Calls from one country to another
• Usage - ILD EEA Landline: Calls from a country within the European Economic Area (EEA) to a landline in another country
• Usage - ILD EEA Mobile: Calls from a country within the European Economic Area (EEA) to a mobile number in another country
• Usage - ILD EEA Non-Geographic: Calls from a country within the European Economic Area (EEA) to a non-geographic number in another country.  Current rates are available at https://info.calltower.com/hubfs/CallTower%20International%20Rates.pdf
• Usage - Inbound Toll Free: Inbound calls from an external caller to one of your Toll-Free numbers
• Usage - Inbound Usage: Inbound calls from an external caller to one of your local (non-toll-free) numbers
• Usage - Intra-customer: Calls between locations or platforms within the same customer account
