- What versions of on-premises Lync/Skype for Business is federated delivery of Clarity Connect compatible with?
- The customer must be on Skype for Business 2015
- Is Skype for Business Online (i.e., hosted by Microsoft within Office 365) compatible with federated delivery of Clarity Connect?
- Yes, federated delivery of Clarity Connect is compatible with Skype for Business Online. *Note* PSTN for contact center must ring into to the hoster’s instance of Skype for Business, not Skype for Business Online.
- What type of Enterprise license do I need for federated delivery of Clarity Connect?
- Either an E3 or E5 license will suffice for federated delivery of Clarity Connect.

- Either an E3 or E5 license will suffice for federated delivery of Clarity Connect.
- If I have pooled minutes through Microsoft and I exceed those minutes, can I still take Clarity Connect federated calls?
- According to Microsoft if a customer has individual pooled minutes either with E5 or E3 voice add-on once minutes are expired the user will not be able to answer a call. (Need to confirm this), Clarity Connect calls will ring in on the Hosting provider PSTN – These should not be affected by the O365 minutes.
- Who hosts Clarity Connect for O365? Where does it physically sit?
- The Clarity Connect app server will be hosted by CallTower within their infrastructure.
- Do I need to have anything located on-premises?
- There is no need to have any on-premises infrastructure – Clarity Connect simply connects to your agents via federation, whether they are homed in Office 365 or a hosted version of Skype for Business. However, if you choose keep Skype for Business on-premises, Clarity Connect can still access your agents via federation.
- Can I use my existing E5 licenses?
- Yes, your agents can use their existing E5 licenses.
- Where do my agents reside?
- Your agents can reside in Office 365, a hosted instance of Skype for Business, or an on-premises installation of Skype for Business. Clarity Connect can then access these agents via federation. Please refer to the following call flow diagram for further details.
