"You're not connect to Salesforce" Message in Outlook

Environment

  1. Right click on the Salesforce for Outlook taskbar icon.
  2. Click on "Settings".
  3. Select the "Change User" button.
  4. Enter in your Salesforce username and password and click on Login
  5. Choose "Allow" on the Salesforce Access screen
  6. Choose the sync direction.  This should be already set correctly so you can just click "Next".
  7. Choose the items you want to sync and click "Save".
  8. Close Outlook and reopen it.  (Give it a second to reconnect to Salesforce.)
