- Speaker - Provides ringer and hands-free (speakerphone) audio output.
- Dial pad - Enables you to enter numbers, letters, and special characters. You can also use the dial pad keys to select menu items that have index numbers.
- Security Slot - The connector on the left side of your phone that enables you to attach a laptop cable lock to your phone so you can secure it to a desktop.
- Messages Waiting Indicator - Flashes red to indicate new messages. (For O365 UM enabled E3/E4 Customer only.)
- Status Bar -The status bar is the top-most section of the touchscreen that displays the date and time, and scrolling icons and messages.
- Home key - Press from any screen to display Home view. From Home view, press to display other phone views.
- Color touchscreen - The screen is touch-sensitive. Tap to select and highlight screen items. To scroll, touch the screen, and swipe your finger up, down, right, or left.
- Soft key area - The soft key area is the area along the bottom of the screen that displays context-sensitive soft keys.
- Headset key - Enables you to place and receive calls through a headset. The key glows green when an analog headset is activated, and blue when a USB headset is activated.
- Speakerphone keys - Enables you to place and receive calls using the speakerphone. The key glows green when activated.
- Mute key - Mutes local audio during calls and conferences. The key glows red when activated.
- Volume keys - Adjust the volume of the handset, headset, speaker, and phone’s ringer.
- Microphone -Transmits sound to other phones.
Quick Start Guide:
1. Answer Calls:
When answering an incoming call, the call becomes active. All incoming calls will display on the phone screen.
To answer the call, lift the handset, press the speaker key, press the headset key press the answer soft key.
If another call comes in during an active call, a beeping tone will indicate that a call is waiting.
To answer an incoming call while on an active call press the appropriate soft key to Answer, Reject, or Ignore the call.
2. Putting a Call on Hold:
To put a call on hold, press the Hold softkey.
To retrieve a call from hold, press the Resume soft key.
Keep in mind:
Pressing the Answer softkey to connect a new call puts an existing connected call on hold automatically.
Before you can Resume, make sure the appropriate call window is active using the navigation key.
3. Divert Call to Voicemail:
To easily send a call to voice mail, just press Reject when you receive an incoming call.
4. Transferring a Call:
Blind Transfer: A “Blind” or unannounced transfer takes place when you transfer a call to someone else without announcing the call first.
- Tap the Transfer soft key
- Dial the number or choose a contact from the directory.
- This completes the transfer.
Consulted Transfer: A “Consulted” or announced transfer is performed when you announce the call to the recipient prior to transferring the call.
- While on an active call, tap the Transfer soft key and dial the number you wish to transfer the call to.
- The caller is automatically placed on hold. Once the receiving party answers, announce the call.
- To complete the transfer, tap the Transfer soft key again.
5. Forward Calls:
You can forward incoming calls to another number or to your voicemail.
To forward a call to another number.
- Select Forward
- Select Forward to a Contact
- Enter the number of your Contact
To forward calls to voicemail:
- Select Forward
- Select Forward to Voicemail
6. Conference Calls:
To initiate a conference call:
- Call a contact.
- When the contact answers, select the Conference soft key then select another contact to call.
- After the second contact answers the call, press the Conference soft key.
NOTE: If in BToE mode, establishing a conference call on the phone may not be available. Use the Skype for Business client for conferencing in BToE mode.
Split Conference Calls
When splitting an ongoing conference call into separate calls, all participants are placed on hold.
To split a conference call:
- Press the Split soft key during an active or held conference call.
- Select the line you want using the navigation key, and press the Resume soft key.
7. Call Park:
From the call, select "More".
You can then send the number to the user or group. You can also Retrieve the call. If the call is not picked up within 90 seconds, it will bounce back to you.
